Summary
As a Senior Program Manager - R&D Infusion Technologies and Therapies at Baxter, you will play a pivotal role in crafting the future of medical delivery systems. Reporting to the Director of Program Management R&D, you will coordinate a diverse portfolio of product development, sustaining, and improvement projects within the Medical Products and Therapies (MPT) Global Business. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead world-class teams in a high-impact role that directly contributes to our mission of advancing the healthcare industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide business and technical leadership for a major, high-complexity program within the Infusion Technologies and Therapies (ITT) Business, a core growth area with over $2B in annual sales.
2. Lead cross-functional scientific and technical teams through all phases of project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure for the life cycle management of key products.
3. Manage collaborator expectations and successfully implement results within the ITT business, ensuring flawless execution and adherence to timelines.
4. Lead teams in resolving complex problems by developing technical solutions, project plans, resourcing plans, and budgets.
5. Develop core team and project management capabilities across the organization, encouraging a culture of collaboration and excellence.
6. Influence and communicate effectively with senior leaders, both within and outside the business unit.
7. Apply standard methodology in Project Management, including PMBOK principles, to ensure projects meet performance metrics and regulatory guidelines.
8. Establish, track, and communicate project risks, ensuring timely mitigation and resolution.
9. Manage all financial aspects of assigned projects, including capital expenditures, functional expenses, and program positioning.
10. Collaborate with marketing, legal, and purchasing teams to develop and negotiate contracts that align with business objectives.
Qualifications
1. Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering or a related field, with 7 years of project management experience. Desired: Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
2. Minimum: 10 years of product life cycle experience with a proven track record of leading multi-site, global, or enterprise-wide programs in the medical products industry.
3. PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification preferred.
4. Self-motivated, capable of analyzing complex problems and driving high-performing teams to success.
5. Comprehensive understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and Product Development Process requirements.
6. Strong leadership and financial competence, with the ability to effectively manage budgets and project financials.
7. Proficient with scheduling software and project management tools.
8. Proven product development experience, demonstrating the ability to deliver high-quality products to market.
