Building Surveyor MEPJob ID188925Posted17-Oct-2024Service lineGWS SegmentRole typeFull-timeAreas of InterestBuilding Management, Building Surveying/Consultancy, Consulting, Facilities Management, Property ManagementLocation(s)Brussels - Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest - BelgiumRole PurposeThis opportunity sits within the CBRE Building Consultancy department, undertaking a wide range of commercially focused, professional building consultancy work for a variety of investor and corporate occupier clients within Belgium and across EMEA ranging from single assets to large portfolios and platform deals.Practice areas that are expected of the candidate include technical due diligence audits for investment and occupier purposes, refurbishment works, maintenance advice and monitoring instructions as part of the financing of real estate operations.Key Responsibilities- To assist in the successful implementation and delivery of professional building consultancy advice, focused on technical installations, to a range of clients in relation to technical due diligence instructions,- You are part of a team that will assess real estate, based on data room review and a site visit.- Your role will be assessing the building installations, such as: heating, cooling, ventilation, electrical installations, and plumbing. Any significant defects, non-compliances, maintenance backlog or other issues need to be reported, accompanied by a fitting recommendation.- Assessment in terms of compliance with current and future regulations (statutory approvals, fire safety,, etc.).- Take into account sustainability matters.- You will contribute to building detailed reports, minutes and costed estimates for actions required to keep the asset operational or remediate any non-compliances.- Your customers are national and international key accounts, mainly in the office, logistics, residential, retail and hotel sectors.Person Specification/Requirements- Engineer / Building Surveyor / Project Manager in construction / facility management function.- Minimum 3 years relevant experience.- Fluent English essential (written and spoken). The majority of deliverables are to be written in English.- Professional French or Dutch, by preference both- Skills: knowledge of building techniques, technical equipment, fire, and life safety regulations.- Autonomous, rigorous, and organized, you have a flair for analysis and synthesis, and are able to draft documents.- Present a professional knowledgeable persona and possess business acumen.- Able to build, develop and maintain existing business and client relationships.- Driving license required.- Operational command of Pack Office: Word, Excel, Power Point.- Be able to work under pressure on high velocity, but short term, projects.- Organize and prioritize tasks so that they are completed within an agreed time frame.- Provide concise and clear written communication.- Able to plan and manage own workload.- Articulate and excellent attention to detail.- Confident and assertive where required.- Flexible approach to work.- Open to travel, as required.Working at CBREWhen you join CBRE you will have the support and resources of a global firm where an entrepreneurial mind-set is encouraged.
