About the Job
As System Engineer – Diagnostics, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and robustness of our transmission systems on the DT2 product family.
You will lead the development and integration of diagnostics strategies to detect, report, and manage faults within the transmission system. Your expertise will contribute directly to the quality and safety of our products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer satisfaction.
Additionally, you will support aftersales and service teams by ensuring diagnostic strategies and documentation meeting the field service requirements.
You will report to the system engineering function lead and project leads in a matrix organization.
Responsibilities
* Define and develop diagnostic functions for transmissions systems, including fault detection, fault isolation, fault reporting and fault prioritizations
* Compose technical product level requirements into (sub-)system level requirement, specifications and architecture and ensure follow up towards compliancy
* Create and maintain diagnostics specifications (DTC’s, Freeze frame Data, Fault code) and repair instructions and processes for AS&S
* Ensure compliance with automotive diagnostic standards such as ISO 14229 (UDS), ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and On-Board Diagnostics (OBD)
* Develop test plans for diagnostic validation and oversee diagnostic testing in simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HiL), and vehicle environments
* Perform system analysis, modeling and simulation to validate system performance and compliance with industry standards
* Collaborate with software, hardware, and functional design/validation teams to ensure seamless integration of diagnostic functionalities
* Support calibration and testing of diagnostic systems and lead functional alignments over teams
* Act as a liaison between the engineering and aftersales teams to address feedback from the field and continuously improve diagnostic strategies.
* Assist in resolving complex diagnostic issues encountered in the field, ensuring customer satisfaction.
* Act as the interface between customers and internal teams regarding diagnostic requirements.
* Provide technical expertise to resolve diagnostic-related issues in development, production, and aftersales phases.
Qualifications
* Master degree in Engineering or equivalent by experience
* Minimum 5 years experience in automotive diagnostics, system engineering or a related domain
* Experience with transmissions systems is highly desirable
* Good level of English
* Team player
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in diagnostic communication protocols (UDS, CAN, …)
* Familiarity with automotive standards like Autosar, OBD, ISO26262
* Hands-on experience with diagnostics tools like CANalyzer, CANape, CANoe, …
