Context of Need
To support the development of its Hydrogen Business Line in Belgium, John Cockerill is looking for an HSE Engineer (M/F).
Mission Scope And Responsibilities
In collaboration with the project execution and engineering teams, the HSE Engineer plays a cross-functional role for John Cockerill Hydrogen. He/She supports and advises project teams on health, safety, environment, and hygiene aspects, in coordination with the HSE Manager. The main goal is to anticipate and prevent risks while ensuring project compliance.
Responsibilities
1. Assess the level of HSE compliance of hydrogen-related projects at each stage based on applicable regulations and standards.
2. Verify and support the implementation of project risk assessments and follow up on corrective actions.
3. Ensure that all internal HSE procedures are in place and adhered to within projects.
4. Implement and monitor an HSE action plan essential for project success.
5. Promote HSE culture within the Hydrogen sector and develop a strong safety mindset.
Desired Profile
1. Engineering degree and/or HSE certification.
2. 2 to 5 years of experience in a role related to safety, health, hygiene, and environment in the oil & gas sector.
3. Ideally, experience in an industrial environment and/or turnkey projects (experience in the hydrogen or chemical sector is a plus).
4. Autonomy, flexibility, and field/project orientation.
5. Team spirit, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Ability to read and understand P&IDs (process and instrumentation diagrams).
7. Experience in Hazid, Hazop, Lopa methods.
8. Ability to translate legal/standard requirements into an understandable manner.
9. SMART mindset and service-oriented attitude.
10. Languages: French/English required.
