Internal Control Officer (M/F)

In order to replace our current internal controller (whose assignment in Belgium ends at the end of 2025), we are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team in Wavre.
Let’s talk about your role
Under the supervision of the CFO, after a period of induction and training by our current controller, you will be responsible for ensuring that effective internal controls are being designed and operated in the company.
Key responsibilities :
As Internal Control Officer, you will :
Perform monitoring and assessment of administration & accounting processes :
- update some YE policies (e.g. Powers of Signature) when needed;
- draft YE policies based on a request from the CFO;
- make sure that annual IT access control review is performed.
Coordinate, prepare & supervise the internal audits (J-SOX and operational audits) together with the YBK Internal Auditing Department :
- update the process flowchart(s);
- collect audit evidences from the relevant departments;
- answer questions from the internal auditors at YBK.
Implement Yamabiko (YBK) group processes within the company, including staff training :
- make sure that the policies and procedures of YE are in line with those of the YBK group;
- follow up on the changes to the YBK group policies, so that they can be respected also at YE.
Determine and recommend improvements in current risk management controls and implement system changes or upgrades :
- initiate the annual Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) process.
Your Profile
You have a university degree or equivalent in economics, accounting or management.
* Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience as internal control officer or auditor;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
* Fluent in French and English, knowledge of Japanese would be an asset;
* Knowledge on SOX or J-SOX is a “nice-to-have”;
* Strong analytical, decision making & time management skills. Mature planning, organizing and directing skills;
* Ability to provide support & guidance to peers;
* Ability to organize his/her own work processes and to lead the implementation of related processes with the other sections;
* Ability & willingness to work in a team environment;
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Geographical scope
We encourage and support flexibility by enabling our employees to work from home for 1 or 2 days a week.
Easy reachable by car and public transportation, our office is located in Wavre, 25km south of Brussels.
