Introduction
At Service Market Logistics (SML), we aim to deliver excellent service to our customers. Our job is to develop, manage and optimize the Service Market supply chain, to secure uptime of their equipment. We ensure the highest possible spare parts availability, delivery precision and quality everywhere in the world.
It is with great honor that we look at our Ghent distribution center, as it is the biggest one of the Volvo Group worldwide. It holds spare parts of every brand, which means all spare parts of the truck brands, the construction equipment, the busses and the marine- and industrial engines. Being successful in the long run, that is our vision! Therefore, we offer storage but also secondary activities, which focus on delivery precision, service and efficiency.

You are part of a global team of colleagues designing the future way of working within our worldwide network of distribution centers.
In Ghent, you have direct peer colleagues working in the global context, as well as a group of colleagues (Logistics Engineers, Business Analysts, Data analysts) working for the local organization all reporting to the same manager.
By this, we can offer a good mix between global long-term vision work, mid-term developing and planning but also secure the connection with local activities on a day-to-day basis.

1. Being part of CDC Ghent organization and working through networks with the engineering community worldwide
2. Investigate and propose (software and hardware) tools & techniques to improve process execution.
3. Supporting warehouses in building a multi-year roadmap based on the As-Is state to close the gap with the To-Be state.
4. Process mapping & process descriptions for the global To-Be state.
5. Documenting warehouse principles and concepts in the VOC (Volvo Operational Concept).
6. Benchmarking inside and outside Volvo Group looking for possible process improvements and share within the network and build business cases as required.
7. Coaching of local Logistics Engineers to work according to Lead DC and VOC best practices.
8. Leading or participating in (Kaizen) workshops and Continuous Improvement initiatives among engineering networks.
9. Driving the network to implement and adhere to lean principles and best practices.
10. Participate in IT workshops to translate business needs in system solutions. Being part of CDC Ghent organization and working through networks with the engineering community worldwide
Are you the one?
11. Master engineering degree or equal by experience.
12. Knowledge of (logistics) processes and process development.
13. Experience in lean management techniques.
14. Knowledge of project management.
15. Analytical thinking & organizing skills.
16. Change management skills.
17. Experience with data modeling software (Python, SQL, PowerBI, …).
18. Working knowledge of conceptual modeling tools (Autocad, FormIT, …).
