Fugro is seeking a bright, highly skilled, and motivated Geotechnical Engineer with a strong passion for geotechnics and a creative mindset to join our growing Land Site Screening & Consulting Team in Belgium. The Fugro office in Belgium offers specialized consultancy and engineering services worldwide in both the marine and land environments for projects in the energy and infrastructure markets.

Roles and Responsibilities
As a Geotechnical Engineer at Fugro, you will:
1. Drive Business Development: Actively participate in the growth of our land consultancy business.
2. Project Management: Plan, develop, coordinate, prepare, and oversee reporting for multiple projects and clients.
3. Geotechnical Expertise: Provide geotechnical interpretation, analysis, and advice in a variety of standard and non-standard geotechnical engineering studies.
4. Design Excellence: Design soil structures such as tailing dams, soil improvement projects, and settlement reclamations. Design structures with significant geotechnical components like quay walls, retaining walls, and tailing dams.
5. Collaborative Consulting: Advise structural engineers on pile design, basement structures, bearing capacities, settlements, and soil pressures.
6. Field Supervision: Oversee geotechnical campaigns and soil testing, ensuring quality control of performed works.
7. Safety Compliance: Observe and follow all company safety rules and procedures.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate technical excellence and thrive in a fast-paced engineering consultancy environment. Key requirements include:
8. Educational Background: A Master’s degree or PhD in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or equivalent.
9. Geotechnical Insight: Familiarity with geotechnical practices and markets in Belgium.
10. Language Proficiency: Excellent written and verbal skills in Dutch or French and English. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
11. Customer Focus: A commitment to customer satisfaction and delivery excellence.
12. Interpersonal Skills: An open and respectful attitude with the ability to communicate effectively across different audiences.
13. Willingness to Travel: Regular travel within Belgium and occasional travel abroad.
