Project Engineer
Your Scope
Are you an experienced Project Engineer with a strong mix of technical expertise, industry-specific knowledge, and essential soft skills? The primary objective of the Group Project Engineer is to analyze the production and packing activities of the Ardo Group to identify opportunities for optimizing technical processes. You will develop expertise and contribute to ongoing improvement projects to ensure the best results. In this position, you will report directly to the Group Engineering Director.
Your key focus is:
Centralize all practical know-how in the Group:
1. Collaborate closely with the local Engineering Manager and Plant Manager.
2. Share and communicate all know-how available within the group so that proven technologies & practices are integrated into all types of engineering projects, on a global and local scale.
Analyze all packing and processing activities to support all efforts to achieve the group KPIs:
3. Set, benchmark, and follow up KPIs between the various production sites related to efficiency, energy use, production capacity, product range, and product quality, …
4. Analyze results and address issues with Group and factory management where necessary.
5. Develop or elaborate efficiency, including communication systems, education, training, and coaching.
6. Initiate optimization projects regarding existing technical processes and organization
7. Work closely with local teams and 3rdparty suppliers to identify technical improvement projects within packaging and production.
8. Compose and coordinate project teams with internal contributors and 3rd parties, ensuring correct division of tasks, following up agreed timings and activities up until final project delivery.
9. Draft budget and project planning in consultation with local plant managers and external service providers.
Coordinate and execute projects in innovation, optimization and expansion:
10. Coordinate and provide support to local teams throughout a project.
11. Guard over the correct application of safety procedures and address safety concerns during the execution and delivery of projects.
12. Guarantee that all aspects, such as cost, return on investment, productivity, and safety…are included in the analysis phase.
13. Follow up on realized and post-calculate actual CAPEX spending.
Coach and develop colleagues throughout the organization who are involved in packing and processing:
14. During innovation or optimization projects, you organize training so technical equipment is used correctly.
15. Develop competencies and skills of local staff, to optimize and utilize know-how throughout the organization.
Remain up to date with emerging trends, developments, and best practices:
16. Actively inform oneself regarding new technical possibilities available in the market and overall developments in packing and processing technology.
Your profile
17. You have a master’s degree in science.
18. You have at least 5 years of work experience in a project engineering role, preferably in the food industry.
19. You have fluent verbal and written language skills in Dutch and English. Your French is proficiency.
20. You are willing to travel throughout the BENE and IBERICA region of the Ardo group (approximately 20%, but flexible scheduling).
21. You have strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
22. You are a detail-oriented Project Engineer with a proven track record in managing and executing various engineering projects, optimizing production processes, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
23. You are a problem solver with strong interpersonal skills able to take others with you in your vision.
