We are currently seeking a motivated Packaging Engineer (m/f) to join our team. By joining us, you'll be part of a leading company that is shaping the future of hybrid transmission technology.
About the Role
You will be responsible for two key packaging flows:
1. Internal Packaging Flow: Ensuring proper packaging solutions for transferring components between entities and shipping finished goods to customers.
2. Incoming Packaging Flow: Reviewing and validating the packaging of components purchased from external suppliers to ensure they meet factory standards.
Responsibilities
Internal Packaging Flow Management
1. Develop and specify packaging requirements for components being transferred between different company entities and for shipping finished goods to customers.
2. Collaborate with internal teams (production, logistics, quality & procurement) to optimize packaging for transportation, storage, and handling.
3. Coordinate with external partners to develop packaging solutions that meet the defined specifications, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
4. Conduct tests and validations within the production environment to confirm that packaging solutions are fit for purpose.
Incoming Packaging Flow Management
1. Review the packaging of all components purchased from external suppliers to ensure they comply with company standards and protect products during transport and handling.
2. Provide feedback to suppliers regarding packaging performance and suggest improvements where necessary.
3. Monitor packaging quality and resolve any issues related to damaged or improperly packaged components.
4. Work with procurement and suppliers to ensure continuous improvement of incoming packaging materials and methods.
5. Maintain the database of all packaging details in a tracker.
6. Update packaging instructions into the system.
7. Proceed to regular internal audits to check packaging compliance at reception.
8. Reporting and analysis on request.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
2. 3+ years of experience in packaging engineering or supply chain management, preferably within the automotive sector.
3. Knowledge of packaging materials, industry standards, and testing methods for both internal and external flows.
4. Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple packaging projects simultaneously.
5. Excellent communication skills to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
6. Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain processes is a plus.
7. Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
