An overview of your day
As QEHS Manager for the High Voltage Installation and Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing health, safety and environmental (EHS) standards on worksites in Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, as well as supervising the methods and quality standards defined within the department.
You will also manage the team's tooling, the quality of work carried out, and procedures for the sites and service technicians. You will be involved in drawing up project-specific task descriptions (Risk Assessment & Method Statement) and detailed Safety Plans based on customer specifications and factory standards.
In partnership with the central QHSE departments and management, you will ensure that the Integrated Management System follows ISO 9001, 14001 and VCA standards.
You will act as group coordinator within the Western Europe sub-region (France-Belgium-Switzerland-Netherlands) and as an interface between management and the various QEHS managers.
How you make a difference
* Ensure compliance with QEHS standards during the assembly, maintenance, and refurbishment of high-voltage equipment.
* Carry out project audits, assist with non-conformity analyses, participate in corrective action proposals (REX), and measure and supervise supplier quality.
* Be responsible for safety and quality of activities carried out on worksites, ensuring adherence to established standards and procedures.
* Train and raise staff awareness of QEHS topics. Meet with customers to complete satisfaction surveys or address major QEHS problems.
* Report incidents, accidents, and non-conformities, implementing appropriate corrective measures.
* Suggest improvements/modifications to business processes, avoiding any deterioration in efficiency.
What you bring
* University degree with a major in QEHS or project management, or equivalent experience in a similar role, preferably in the energy sector.
* In-depth knowledge of QEHS regulations and industry standards. Proven skills in managing tooling and overseeing workmanship.
* Excellent communication and training skills. Proficiency in French, Dutch, and English to connect successfully with customers, plants, technical specialists, counterparts, and management.
* Willingness to travel throughout Belgium, Luxembourg, and occasionally to other countries. Valid category B driving license.
* Possession of a level 2 prevention consultant diploma is highly desirable.
This QEHS Manager position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced and pro-active health, safety, and environment professional, primarily looking to play a key role in implementing safety standards and quality development within a local team, while positioning themselves within the international group by coordinating QEHS players in other countries in the sub-region.
