For the Technology Centre of Excellence of Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions in Heverlee, Belgium we are looking for a Lab Technician for our corrosion coupon monitoring activity.
Responsibilities:
* Daily processing of corrosion coupon samples per Standard Operational Procedures guidelines
* Login, process, and record test results in LIMS database
* Meet established due dates for all work assigned
* Maintain the instruments in calibrated and working conditions and effectively communicate on significant issues to the team leader
* Assist with development and improvement of procedures
* Perform other essential functions as assigned by the team leader to support the Metallurgy and Membrane laboratory, including corrosion and membrane filtration experiments on laboratory-scale systems, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the group
* Contribute to the site safety efforts through adherence of policies and procedures
Position Requirements:
* A2 or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (laboratory technology, chemistry) or equivalent with 1-2 years of relevant experience in a lab environment
* Excellent planning and organisational skills
* Fluent in English
* Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
* Attention to detail encompassing data entry
* Quick learner, coachable and adaptable retaining and applying new information quickly
