Your team and your responsibilities
Team description
Toyota Motor Europe R&D Centre is responsible for developing vehicles and making concept proposals for EU core models, reflecting EU technology to Toyota vehicles timely by utilizing location advantage and strong network with EU partners. The Electronics Engineering Design Division is responsible for the design & installation of Body Electronics parts (Instrument cluster, switches, etc.) and Multimedia parts (Radio, speakers, etc.) for European vehicles from concept phase to serial production.
Your responsibilities
* Design and develop electronic parts to achieve performance, quality, and cost targets.
* Analyse needs, benchmark existing specifications, and write necessary software/hardware requirements for electronic parts such as Instrument clusters or Telematics systems.
* Participate in defining the correct installation conditions for your responsible parts in the vehicle while securing the required performance.
* Co-operate with suppliers and Toyota stakeholders to secure production feasibility of parts.
* Ensure regulation compliance and collaborate with the Homologation department.
* Support plant production and quality engineers to resolve concerns raised during production trials or mass production.
* Benchmark competitors’ products and propose ideas for product and cost improvement.
Your Profile
* You are fluent in English (TME’s business language).
* You have a master’s degree in Electronics or Computer Science.
* You possess good people (soft) skills and can comfortably discuss/negotiating with other stakeholders internally and externally.
* You have multiple experiences in the development of Electronic Control Units, writing control specifications, and/or hardware specifications in a professional environment. Experience in automotive engineering is an asset.
* You have displayed strong leadership in difficult situations and are resilient under pressure.
* You have a strong quality mindset and think critically to find root causes.
* You have on-the-job experience with the following: Design FMEA, Requirement Management Tool such as DOORS, Model writing and simulation (tools such as MATLAB/Simulink), Programming languages such as C++/Python, CAN Bus measurement tools such as CANoe, and basic knowledge of CAD systems such as Catia (Design and simulation).
* You are passionate about the automotive sector and have a genuine interest in electronics engineering.
* You are able to travel for business on an occasional basis.
