High Voltage Products is a business unit within Hitachi Energy, a key part of the energy transformation. The business unit develops, manufactures, and markets high voltage products for HVAC and HVDC systems, such as surge arresters, breakers, instrument transformers, capacitors, cooling systems, and cable accessories. Your responsibilities:
* Support operations for existing low voltage capacitor products.
* Lead R&D projects or work-packages with a structured and target-oriented working style.
* Build experimental set-ups, conduct tests, and analyze test results, possibly including physical modelling.
* Work with a global R&D team ensuring knowledge sharing, timely and high-quality deliverables.
* Collaborate closely with our Power Grids Research organization and with academia.
* Create ideas and proposals for new R&D projects.
* Effectively communicate with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and other external partners.
* Document results in the form of technical reports, presentations, IP, etc.
* Have a background in dielectrics, HV physics, and/or electrotechnology; PhD or MSc preferred.
* Ideally have 5 years of working experience in the field of film capacitors or film metallization (product or process).
* Possess sound analytical skills and experience with planning, conducting, and analyzing experiments.
* Ability to work in other technical areas, such as materials, insulation systems, thermal management, and Multiphysics integration.
* Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
* Experience in, or ability to develop, project management and technical leadership skills.
* Bonus if you have working experience in modeling and characterization of HV capacitors and/or other HV devices with solid insulation.
