We are looking for an experienced Process Safety Consultant with broad process design experience to join our Belgium team which serves the wider global Business Units across PM Group. The successful candidate will enjoy working on multiple large-scale projects in the Belgian and international markets across a number of sectors, including mainly the Life Sciences and Advanced Manufacturing sectors. Depending on the successful candidate’s preference, this opportunity can be permanent or on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be based in Belgium and be proficient in Dutch.ResponsibilitiesTo be successful in this role, candidates must be able and competent to independently lead and deliver the majority of the following process safety deliverables to appropriate regulatory standards and guidelines:1. Preparing and chairing Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), e.G., HAZID, Hazard and Operability (HAZOP), LOPA etc.2. Writing an Explosion Protection Document (EPD)3. Generating a Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) – ATEX/DSEAR assessment4. Completing Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA), i.E., Seveso (COMAH)/Safety Report Preparation5. Consequence Modelling, i.E., Toxic Dispersion/Fire/Explosion Modelling. DNV-Phast software knowledge is an advantage6. Executing Process Safety Calculations e.G. Pressure Relief Device (PRD) / Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) Sizing7. Generating project Basis of Safety (BoS) reportIn addition, the candidate must be skilled to:1. Deal directly with client representatives, equipment vendors and multidiscipline engineering colleagues to obtain required information and to resolve process safety issues.2. Support expansion of Process Safety service in the Belgium region by exploring business development opportunities with new and existing clients.QualificationsWe would be interested in hearing from candidates who have the following experience:1. Degree qualification in Process/Chemical engineering (or equivalent)2. Chartered or working towards Chartered Status3. Minimum 15 years’ experience, with over 20 years preferred, in process design, working on PFDs, P&IDs, Equipment sizing and PRD calculations.4. Excellent awareness of process safety engineering and process safety management5. Excellent interpersonal, communication & leadership skills essential.6. Excellent knowledge of EU health & safety legislation7.
