More specifically, the Internal Firm Services (IFS) is the beating heart of everything we do at PwC. We’re made up of teams like Marketing, Communications, HR, IT, Procurement, Finance, Facilities, Project Management and more, and together we form the support network of the entire firm. Our Independence Team helps the firm, its partners and staff, manage a range of regulatory and professional requirements to ensure the firm’s independence from audit and assurance clients. We advise a broad range of internal stakeholders on the Independence requirements surrounding PwC’s relationships and interactions with third parties. We’re looking for a manager who is familiar with a range of topics in the area of “Corporate Independence” as we embark gradually on Global compliance systems and processes to clear and monitor arrangements within our vast community of solvers.

As a manager in the Independence Team, you’ll make a real impact in a workplace that’s human-led and tech-enabled.
Your impact
As an expert in Audit, Legal, Tax or Compliance, you’ll manage core independence processes by analysing potential breaches and preparing breach reporting. In our Independence Team, you’ll also supervise:
1. International independence assessments
Data gathering and reporting wrt to ongoing PwC client and vendor relationships
Analysing PwC services, and other commercial relationships to identify potential conflicts of interest with proposed audit missions. Advising on how to address conflicts of interest
Participate in an international network of Independence Assessment specialists
2. Joint business relationships
Advising engagement teams on the application of rules and policies with regards to joint business relationships
Analyse all firm proposed relationships with third parties setting out the grounds of their permissibility
Monitor the correct application of Joint Business Relationships approvals and continuing permissibility of relationships during their life cycle, including where necessary some administrative follow up
Train users and ensure the correct use of specific authorisation systems
Participate in an international network of Joint Business Relationships specialists
3. Digital offerings
Assessing the compliance of new Digital offerings and services
Ensuring independence controls with regards to Digital Offerings are appropriately applied
4. Co-manage with the Independence management team other key activities of the Independence function
Develop training materials and process documents as appropriate. This may also include delivery of training;
Analyse potential breaches and prepare breach reporting.
Manage service delivery to ensure that queries are answered promptly.
Assist with other areas of the Independence team as required.
About you
5. You have solid experience working in a professional role with an Audit, Legal, Tax or Compliance background preferred. Your analytical and communication skills, focus on client service and ability to work with teams in a matrix organisation will be crucial in this role.
6. Previous Independence experience is preferred, yet not required. We will provide thorough training in both a formal and informal capacity. We are a dynamic and collaborative team who will support your learning and experience as you develop in your role.
7. You are commercially aware and have the willingness to work with the business to provide practical and timely advice. Your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to manage your stakeholders effectively. Your capacity to learn, drive to succeed and dedication to quality will be key parts of the role.
8. You have the exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment so being agile, able to multi-task and having strong organisational skills will be key to your success.
9. You are skilled in applying complex legislative, regulatory and policy requirements to a range of facts and circumstances, and can take the next step to provide practical solutions in novel scenarios.
