Job Description:
As a Multilingual Communication Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring clear, effective, and culturally appropriate communication for the GO4ZERO project. Your main responsibilities will include translation, interpretation, and administrative tasks related to workplace safety (HSE), technical documentation, and internal communication.
Key Responsibilities:
* Translate various materials (HSE documents, work permits, safety sheets, brochures, training materials, site information, and access procedures) from French into Chinese and English.
* Translate internal communications and technical documentation from French to English.
* Provide on-site oral translation and interpretation, ensuring smooth communication between Chinese-speaking workers and the internal team.
* Act as a liaison between teams, ensuring accurate reformulation and cultural adaptation.
Administrative Work:
* Support HSE reporting, including work authorization tracking, data collection, and reporting follow-ups.
* Manage indicators, external contractor contacts, working hours records, and end-of-month reporting.
* Assist in equipment procurement and workplace safety measures.
Qualifications:
* Fluent in Chinese, English, and French (Dutch is a plus but not required).
* Master’s degree in Translation-Interpretation, Multilingual Communication, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of technical and HSE terminology.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly in Chinese and English.
* Ability to work on-site and facilitate real-time oral translations.
* Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to perceive cultural nuances.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in an industrial environment.
* Flexibility to travel occasionally to Tournai.
