Due to the recent growth of the carbon black–conductive team, the company is looking for a Senior Scientist (on-site) in Ghislenghien.
Job Summary:
As an R&D Senior Scientist, you will work on developing and evaluating carbon additives and other materials for energy storage applications particularly lithium-ion batteries. Requirements:
• Master or PhD in chemistry or similar field.
• First experience (3-5 years) in battery technology and relevant laboratory techniques, including in glove box environment.
• Experience with doctor blade coater, lithium-ion cell fabrication and evaluation, high-temperature furnaces, nitrogen gas adsorption, TGA, electron microscopy, and ball milling.
• Excellent reading, writing, and speaking comprehension of English.
• Communication and Teamwork: Good communication skills can foster a positive team environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and excellent time management.

Key Responsibilities:
• Drive the research program, propose research strategies and project portfolio, and design experimental plans in energy storage applications, in lithium-ion batteries.
• Manage the battery team within the conductive team.
• Comprehensively manage test data obtained from the battery lab, report, and discuss it with internal members.
• Develop capabilities and skills for energy storage applications.
• Discuss the priority of evaluation tests with stakeholders and propose and implement development actions.
• Conduct on-site management of the batter lab: safety management, operational management, and maintenance of equipment.
• Conduct laboratory experiments on research projects: electrode and coin cell manufacturing, electrochemical and physical characterization.
• Provide customer support (explaining and discussing technical data.
