As a Nuclear Mechanical Engineer at MCA Belgium, you will be involved in the design, analysis, and maintenance of mechanical systems in nuclear facilities. You will work on high-level engineering projects to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of nuclear mechanical systems. Your role will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and applying industry standards to meet regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design, develop, and analyze mechanical components and systems for nuclear facilities.
2. Perform mechanical calculations and simulations to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
3. Conduct failure analysis and propose corrective actions for mechanical issues.
4. Support maintenance, refurbishment, and life-extension projects for nuclear mechanical systems.
5. Ensure adherence to nuclear safety regulations and industry standards.
6. Prepare technical reports and documentation related to mechanical system designs and modifications.
7. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and regulatory authorities.
8. Participate in risk assessments and ensure continuous improvement of mechanical reliability.
9. Provide technical support during commissioning, testing, and operational phases.
Qualifications & Skills
10. Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
11. 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering within the nuclear sector.
12. Strong knowledge of nuclear mechanical systems, materials, and design methodologies.
13. Proficiency in engineering software such as ANSYS, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
14. Understanding of nuclear safety regulations and standards (e.g., ASME, RCC-M, IEEE).
15. Ability to conduct structural and thermal analysis of mechanical components.
16. Experience with fluid dynamics and heat transfer in nuclear environments.
17. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a high-security environment.
18. Fluent in English; knowledge of French or Dutch is a plus.
