The Mechanical Design Engineer will be part of the fast growing development team that is responsible for the
development of hybrid powertrains. He/she will play a critical role in the design and development of these products.
Job description:
Develop housings of electric propulsion systems in support of functional and manufacturing requirements ie. Strength, Durability, Efficiency, Weight, Cost and NVH behavior and overall vehicle package, and Capability for die-casting and machining.
Responsibilities:
Act as Component Owner responsible for housings of electric propulsion system
Establish housing design fulfilling the requirements both from functional and HPDC technology perspective
Perform Development of components respecting interfaces to any TM sub-systems and vehicle interfaces
Coordinate creation of 3D CAD model and 2D Drawing incl. relevant specification ie. porosity, cleanliness, etc.
Coordination, Scheduling and Follow-up on cross-functional Engineering Activities and Tasks
Coordinate analytical and physical design verification/tests, assess results and prepare project reporting
Lead the x-functional team of design, purchasing and process development for the commodity
Establish and Maintain Component Requirements and align with System Requirements and Supplier
Profile / Requirements :
Basic Qualifications:
MSc or PhD in mechanical engineering
Profound knowledge on HPDC design and manufacturing and opportunities/restrictions by casting technology
Knowledge and experience in designing highly stressed mechanical components for automotive propulsion systems
Project Management Knowledge and Experience, capable to plan and manage activities within the Component Responsibility
CAE and diecast/mold-flow simulation good knowledge, PLM & CAD base knowledge (Windchill, CREO)
Experience or affinity with Automotive engineering and related processes
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Strong expertise in analysis and design of transmission housing and its components
Profound experience design and verification of HPDC components incl. corresponding manufacturing techniques
Experience with both analytical and numerical (FEA) simulation techniques
Experience in automotive development scheme and related processes ie. FMEA, APQP, DCP, 6-Sigma, 8D
Teamplayer, able to work in a multidisciplinary, international and dynamic environment
Strong personality that is able to manage challenging situations (issue resolution, timing constraints, priorities, etc.)
