Our client is looking for a strong Automation Engineer with maintenance experience to join their Manufacturing Team. Employment can be in Evergem or Ghent. As an Automation & Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for improving the efficiency and reliability of their fully automated production line through effective maintenance strategies, rapid troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives. You will be a key player in ensuring high product quality, optimizing maintenance costs and contributing to overall safety and environmental standards. More Specifically: You will be responsible for improving the reliability and uptime of a fully automated production line. This includes defining and implementing maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods. You will ensure routine maintenance is performed promptly and respond swiftly to equipment failures. Working with automation equipment such as PLCs, HMIs, robots, and drives, you will identify spare parts requirements and oversee their procurement. Your duties in this automated production environment involve analyzing problems and devising solutions. You will collaborate closely with technicians, providing necessary training to enhance their proficiency. Additionally, you will oversee and monitor maintenance costs, prioritize both scheduled and unscheduled repairs, and support initiatives to improve health, safety, and environmental protocols. Participation in continuous improvement activities will also be integral to your role. You have a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field. You have experience with robots, specifically Kuka and ABB. You have at least initial experience as an automation engineer in maintenance. Experience in the automotive or glass industry is considered a plus but not a requirement. You are familiar with safety regulations and consider them of high priority. You possess a flexible mindset and are always open to learning or implementing new techniques. You enjoy collaborating with the company and making suggestions for improvements. You have knowledge of PLC programming and can make adjustments as needed. You have a hands-on attitude and maintain a strong presence in the production department. You can work well with colleagues from various departments. You will report to the Maintenance Lead.
