Your Role
You will be the main contact for operational issues with small and midsized customers, ensuring proper department escalation. Collaborating with teams, you'll develop SOPs for new customers and handle escalated operational issues. You’ll work with the Inside Sales Team Leader, build relationships, and drive business growth through regular visits. Additionally, you'll identify cross-selling opportunities, manage financial issues, and ensure targets are met.
Your Responsibilities
* Serve as the primary contact for small and midsized customers regarding operational issues, ensuring the appropriate department within KN operations is notified.
* Collaborate with Operational Managers and Team Leaders to develop and establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Working Instructions for new customers.
* Act as the final escalation point for all operational issues raised by customers or KN staff, ensuring effective resolution.
* Work closely with the Inside Sales Team Leader and team members (as per SEA/SALES 2.0 implementation) to align on customer service management and support.
* Build and maintain relationships with new and potential small & midsized customers through regular visits, optimizing communication and engagement.
* Develop a pipeline of potential small & midsized customers and ensure new business growth targets are achieved (in terms of volume, numbers, and overall success).
* Identify and initiate cross-selling opportunities for new traffics, KN products, and customer solutions, driving business expansion.
* Monitor and manage financial issues, acting as the escalation point for overdue payments, credit limits, invoicing issues, and financial guarantees.
Your Skills and Experiences
* Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Logistics, Business Management, or Sales.
* At least 5 years of experience in international forwarding, ideally within the Supply Chain and Logistics industry (Sea, Air, Overland).
* Proven sales hunting and negotiation skills with a strong ability to close deals.
* Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with a confident, assertive approach.
* In-depth expertise in forwarding and logistics processes within at least one transport modality, specifically Sea Logistics.
* Comprehensive knowledge of forwarding and logistics products and solutions within Sea Logistics.
* Strong understanding of pricing strategies within forwarding.
* Basic knowledge of sales information systems, including BO reporting modules.
* Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite: Explorer, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
* Fluency in Dutch, English, and French (both speaking and writing) is essential.
