The financial world faces many challenges right now and so there’s plenty for you to get your teeth into as a Finance trainee. For example, you could be involved in simplifying complex models, analysing the past and forecasting the future situation for ING. Or you could provide advice relating to ING’s strategic position on the mortgage market. Over a period of two years you’re transformed into a strategic business partner so that you can advise ING’s senior management on important financial matters. Whatever your assignment may be, we hand you plenty of responsibility right from the start. Note: A lot of applicants confuse this track with the traineeship in Wholesale banking. But make no mistake: this Finance traineeship is all about the internal financial processes, and not about making external financial proposals to clients. Your rotations During your first two rotations, in Accounting & Reporting and in the Financial Business Advice (FBA) department, you lay the first cornerstones for your future career. During your third rotation, you will have the opportunity to join the daily life of a Finance team abroad. Many of our trainees choose to go to Amsterdam, Singapore, London or New York. This adventure abroad is not only great for fun but it is also good for your personal and professional development. After your first 18 months, having gained a wealth of experience, you set to work in a more permanent position where you’ll further enhance your knowledge. Your personal preferences and interests form an important starting point for the roles you fulfill. You could for example start your permanent role abroad, should this interest you. Has a master’s degree, preferably in Accountancy & Control, (Business) Economics, Finance, Business Administration or Management Studies. Has an interest in financial services, an innovative take on banking and an unconditional drive to turn ideas into reality. Has gained (international) experience through various extracurricular activities. Is enthusiastic and considers the interests of our customers and colleagues alike. Is fluent in English Has a maximum of 2 years of professional experience Your benefits Needless to say we offer you a good base salary for this traineeship (starters position), paid annual leave, an impressive training package and a permanent contract.
