Job Description
1. The business development manager is the first point of contact for customers in his/her industry and region. This industry manager is responsible for all commercial decisions and is technically skilled in his/her industry.
2. You travel through Belgium, Luxemburg and the north of France to visit existing customers, but moreover to develop new business. Entrepreneurship and ownership of the sector are highly valued.
3. In your efforts to grow the business with existing and new customers, you will be supported by technical training and backup from the dedicated principals. You monitor market developments and act as an intermediary between producer and customer.
4. Creating cooperation with new suppliers is also part of the task package.
5. You work in a team with other industry managers, responsible for other segments. You deliver added value supported by the inside sales team.
6. Providing technical solutions, delivering service, and adding value are your main drivers.
7. You report to the Sales Director.
Profile
8. You have a technical or chemical Bachelor/Master degree or are equivalent by experience by knowledge in life sciences in a relevant technical field.
9. You have at least a few years’ experience in a commercial role, in a technical environment (personal care/pharma, home care/industrial cleaners, cosmetics, pretreatment,…), ideally on international level.
10. You are eager to visit clients and are considered a trusted advisor based on your expertise.
11. You have a commercial hunting attitude & know how to maintain and develop a close relationship with your customers.
12. You have excellent relationship skills and you are a good team worker.
13. You are fluent in Dutch/English with good notions of French or fluent in French/English with good notions of Dutch.
14. Knowledge of CRM systems and Microsoft Office and all other IT applications relevant in a business role.
