The job
As a Category Manager, you are responsible for the indirect procurement of Oleon's global transport needs. Through a targeted procurement policy, you ensure the availability of all our transport facilities, from sourcing raw materials from suppliers to delivering finished products to customers on a global scale. In this role, you can fully develop your tactical and strategic purchasing expertise while contributing to the company's growth. You also play a key role in the development and implementation of our sourcing strategy.
Based on a continuous analysis of market conditions and an accurate assessment of our transport and logistics needs, you will establish targeted contacts with potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and provide tailor-made solutions. You can rely on an experienced and professional purchasing team to support you.
You proactively identify and propose new purchasing projects, executing them in collaboration with internal stakeholders and procurement colleagues from our mother company, Avril. Your focus is on cost reduction, quality optimization, logistics, and efficiency. Additionally, sustainability is one of our key selection and evaluation parameters in procurement decisions.
In this role, you report to the Oleon Purchasing Manager for Indirect Materials and are part of Avril’s corporate purchasing team.

Quite simple when you are passionate, already have several years of relevant experience as a category manager within transport, preferably in a manufacturing or corporate environment.
In this role you’ll leverage strong analytical skills to drive impactful results. You’ll excel at multitasking, confidently navigating various responsibilities. Your natural talent for clear and effective communication will shine, and you’ll relish the opportunity to negotiate and build lasting, meaningful relationships.
At Oleon, we value entrepreneurship and collaboration. Taking initiative and making decisions define you. Dutch and English are a must, and a solid foundation in French is a strong asset.
