We are seeking a motivated System Simulation Engineer to join our team. By joining Stellantis e-Transmissions, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of hybrid transmission technology.
About the Job
As a System Simulation Engineer, you will be a vital member of our Validation and Simulation team, focusing on 1D simulation for powertrain development.
Responsibilities
1. Define, plan, and execute 1D system simulations for hybrid transmission systems using MATLAB, Simulink, and Simcenter AMESim.
2. Develop, validate, and refine simulation models, ensuring correlation with physical test results and regulatory compliance.
3. Perform dynamic/static and linear/nonlinear analyses to evaluate system performance, efficiency, and durability.
4. Optimize designs through parameter sensitivity studies and advanced numerical methods.
5. Create custom component models and integrate them into system simulations.
6. Analyze simulation data and provide actionable insights through detailed reports and visualizations.
7. Automate workflows and enhance toolchains using Python or MATLAB for improved efficiency.
8. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate simulation results into product development.
9. Support physical testing by guiding experiments and refining models based on test outcomes.
10. Document methodologies and establish best practices for future projects.
Your Profile
Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Mechatronics.
2. Over 3 years of experience in modeling and simulation for automotive powertrain systems.
Key Competences:
1. Expertise in dynamic modeling and simulation.
2. Proficiency in planning and executing end-to-end simulation processes: requirements gathering, preprocessing, setup, solving, post-processing, interpretation, and reporting.
3. Strong analytical skills, including the ability to perform engineering calculations (e.g., mechanics and MBD) to validate simulations and guide designs.
4. Familiarity with other simulation disciplines, such as CFD, MBS and FEA is a plus.
5. Ability to interpret simulation results, correlate them with physical mechanisms, and provide actionable insights for product design improvements.
6. Collaborative mindset to work effectively with design, testing, and cross-functional teams.
7. Methodical approach to development and problem-solving.
8. Fluent in English (oral and written).
Technical Skills:
1. Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and Simcenter System Simulation Package AMESim.
2. Familiarity with high-level scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB.
