Our Manufacturing Systems & Technology team supports companies both in their strategy and in implementing technology to drive innovation at every stage of their production chainfrom design to the finished product. At our Smart Manufacturing cus in Genk (Thor Park), we develop innovative solutions for the manufacturing industry. The main services we offer to manufacturing companies include feasibility studies, pilot lines, and support, in addition to training and demonstrators. Sirris views the development of this new cus as a key step in creating a dynamic ecosystem for and with production companies. We are looking for a CAD Designer/CAM Programmer with a strong interest in operating the machines in the workshop. What will be your responsibilities? You will be responsible for the mechanical design of test setups and prototypes, actively developing new setups and prototypes as part of a team. You will handle CAM programming for high tech CNC machines (3 and 5 axis milling, 3 and 5 axis laser texturing). You will independently realize prototypes on CNC machines, from offline programming to machining on the CNC machine. Your time will be evenly split between programming and workshop operations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a digital twin. In collaboration with the workshop supervisor, you will ensure accurate reporting (maintenance, malfunctions, etc.) within the digital platform. Together with the workshop supervisor, you will manage necessary purchases (materials, tools, accessories, etc.). Who are you? You have a background in Electromechanics, Industrial Engineering (Electromechanics), or experience in a design office/work preparation at a supplier of mechanical parts. You have a good knowledge of CAD software (bonus if you are familiar with Siemens NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and/or Fusion ). You have a good knowledge of CAM software (bonus if you are familiar with Siemens NX ). You are knowledgeable about materials and their properties. You have a strong understanding of machining processes, including tools and cutting conditions.
