The chemical production facility in Geel is part of the Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines Supply Chain organization and is the largest manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and spray dried powders (SDP) within the network.
The NPI Senior Process Engineer will become a member of the MSAT Small Molecule Drug Substance NPI (SM DS NPI) team who are responsible for supporting New Product Introductions (NPI), handling product transfers, supporting process validation and improvements, and deploying standard/new technologies. A solid understanding of chemical synthesis and API manufacturing and knowledge of process technology is required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading/supporting projects within the NPI portfolio or product tech transfers.
* Collaborating with global MSAT functions and R&D, supporting plant readiness and execution.
* Finding opportunities to increase process efficiency and implementing innovative initiatives.
* Gaining expertise in current equipment capabilities and new process technologies.
* Contributing to the review and approval of API technical documents.
* Providing technical support during regulatory audits and inspections.
* Building knowledge as a process engineer and integrating this knowledge into the organization.
* Building a strong network with departments like operations, quality, and technical engineering.
Qualifications:
* Master’s Degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering or related fields.
* Experience in an API manufacturing, engineering or development environment is an asset.
* Technical knowledge of API assets is highly valued.
* Good project management, organizing, planning and coordination skills.
* Strong analytical skills and high level of accuracy.
* Working knowledge of English and Dutch (or willingness to develop proficiency in Dutch).
