The Bridge is conceived as an inclusive, sustainable and locally-integrated nomadic theatre, connecting multilingual Brussels to English-language talent. It uses the power of theatre to promote social cohesion and progressive values. The Bridge produces and receives thought-provoking and relevant plays that respond interculturally to the diverse Brussels populace.
A Production Manager (perhaps better known as a Technical Manager in Belgium) is responsible for all the physical aspects of a show. They enable the creatives (director, set designer, light designer, sound designer) to turn their vision into physical reality. This can mean anything from giving input on the design concept to ensure it will be realizable within the physical and budgetary constraints, risk assessing everything, constructing (or organizing the construction of) set pieces, sourcing bits of set, liaising with the technical department of the theatre, scheduling the load-in and load-out, and physically managing the load-in and load-out.
Candidate Profile
For this role, we are looking for someone not only very organized and excellent with people but also someone who is technically very competent, knowing what pieces of kit will answer which needs, what is physically possible in any given space, and knowing how to problem solve. Please note that while the working language is English, fluency in English is not a requirement!
Offer
This is a call for interest to work with us on a project-by-project basis. We currently produce 2-3 productions in Brussels per year, with our next production in April-May 2025.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should send an introductory email and CV to us at edward@thebridge.brussels.
