Part-time academic position - Faculty of Architecture - Field: Managing architectural projects

JOB DESCRIPTION
A part-time (10%), indivisible academic position in the field of Managing Architectural Projects within the Faculty of Architecture. This position includes teaching and research activities as well as services to the community.
The post-holder should develop teaching activities addressing the practical aspects of the architectural profession. These classes will enable students to understand the key steps and people involved in an architectural project, as well as to grasp the conditions of structured, rigorous, and responsible professional practice. They will address the organisational, administrative, financial, and communicational aspects of architectural production and, more broadly, managing an architecture office, and the ethical principles involved in architectural practice. Learning about management tools and the foundations of managing conflict should also be covered.
TEACHING ACTIVITIES
The course load includes teaching missions relating to the management of architectural projects at Master’s level.
ARCH0059 Management: Construction project management – 5 ECTS – 40h Th – Master 2;
Supervising final dissertations – 10 ECTS or 30 ECTS – Master 2.
RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
Given the part-time nature of the position, this will principally involve occasional support within projects.
SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY
The post includes a small number of services to the community, including:
* Activities to promote courses;
* Participation in Faculty committees relating to teaching and recruitment;
* Supervising exams.
DOCUMENTS QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED / PROFILE
The position is aimed at a professional expert.
Hold a degree in architecture, architectural engineering, management, or any other qualification related to the field;
Have significant professional experience related to architecture or construction;
Demonstrate significant management experience related to architecture or construction;
Experience of human resource management within a private or public body is a plus.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
The selection procedure will be carried out on the basis of an analysis of the applications and, potentially, an interview during which the applicants will be asked to present a teaching scenario. The interview format will be communicated to the shortlisted applicants at least 8 days before the interview, which will take place in person at the University.
