Our Process Solutions department is a competence centre in the field of industrial automation and drives technology especially for the Fiber Industry. We design, supply, build and maintain sophisticated solutions for this sector, mainly related to rotating equipment.
As a Service Engineer, you'll be engineering and commissioning new installations, also maintaining, fixing and upgrading our existing installations at our clients' sites, focusing on automation systems and drive technologies. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the efficient operation of our clients’ systems and in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
This position involves extensive travel to customers' sites, mainly within Europe, but with occasional global travel.
How You’ll Make an Impact
We do not supply standard products, instead we advise and deliver solutions that allow customers to work better, faster and more efficiently. That means making smart use of diverse products and suppliers, to ultimately deliver a total installation.
* Customer focus - responsible for client communication to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions, conduct training sessions on system operation and maintenance, and provide exceptional customer service and support to enhance client satisfaction.
* Detail engineering phase - Lead the detail engineering of projects and/ or modifications (incl. a wide variety of hardware and software engineering tasks), creating a detail design, ensuring quality and compliance of installations.
* Testing and installation - systems configuration, installation and testing prior to commissioning, testing out the whole concept for hardware and software.
* Commissioning - perform and/ or supervise commissioning phase; collaboration with other engineers and project managers
* This role works alternately in the preparation and commissioning phase of a project, so the tasks and responsibilities are very wide-ranging. Motivation to stay updated on industry trends and advancements is needed.
What You Bring
* Completed university degree in Electro Mechanics, Automation, or similar field.
* Knowledge of automating processes and/ or machinery; process control system (PCS7); corrective maintenance (especially within industrial automation).
* Experience with communication protocols (Ethernet, Profibus, ProfiNET, Modbus (TCP)); and setting up IT systems (such as PCs, VMs, Network equipment, KVM switches etc.).
* Previous experience in Fiber Industry automation is highly advantageous.
* Communicative level of French and English essential, Dutch and/ or German desirable.
* Quality and result oriented personality with exceptional interpersonal and time-management skills, flexible approach, and a team oriented mentality
