Are you ready to take your strategic procurement expertise to the next level? Our client a global leader in process equipment for the pharmaceutical sector is looking for a Strategic Buyer to strengthen their supply chain team. Youll be working in a dynamic, international environment focused on custom made mechanical components (95% metal) sourced worldwide.
As a Strategic Buyer, youll manage a portfolio of strategic suppliers across Europe and Asia. Youll work closely with engineering, project management, production, and operational procurement to ensure timely and cost effective sourcing of critical make parts.
Work location: Sites in Halle & Wommelgem.
Your responsibilities include:
* Leading supplier negotiations on pricing, lead times, and quality standards
* Managing and developing a robust network of international suppliers
* Monitoring delivery performance and driving continuous improvement
* Collaborating with stakeholders to optimize procurement strategies.
* Contributing to KPI targets such as cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and on time delivery
* Supporting local manufacturing by ensuring procurement of parts per technical drawings
Your Profile
* 5+ years of strategic procurement experience (metalworking, machinery, automotive, or aerospace preferred)
* Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or related field
* Strong knowledge of metal manufacturing processes & ability to read technical drawings
* Commercial mindset with top notch negotiation skills
* Experienced in ERP systems (SAP or similar)
* Fluent in English; Dutch or French is a plus
* Willingness to travel occasionally to European or Asian suppliers
