Job Description:
The Global Subject Matter Expert – HVAC & Black Utilities will be in charge of defining and developing technical standards, including safety and green aspects, for the client's Physical Asset Management/Asset Technical Standards and Expertise Team. This expert will also define strategy in their domain of expertise, monitor technological developments, and seek opportunities to implement innovations in equipment lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
* Reports to the Technical Guidance Lead
* Defines and develops technical standards, including safety and green aspects
* Defines strategy in his/her domain of expertise (HVAC & Black Utilities)
* Monitors technological developments in his/her domain
* Seeks opportunities to implement innovations in equipment lifecycle
* Is part of feasibility studies and conceptual designs
* Leads and connects a global network of experts
* Participates in the transformation of client's sites/campus
* Participates in the feasibility study and builds the conceptual design for new projects incoming
* Brings his/her technical expertise to ensure the best technical solution is provided to customers
* Ensures the technical follow-up of all projects managed by the client's Engineering & Sites and Facilities
* Supports other initiatives within Physical Asset Management
* Mentors and coaches capabilities of industrial utilities equipment and distribution network users
* Works with design engineering leads to define the best solution to meet customer needs
* Ensures adherence to cGxP and EHS regulations and guidelines corresponding to related systems
* Develops and leads a professional network constantly assessing and seeking best practices for use at the site and for the broader client's network
* Defines cost estimates for 'HVAC & Black Utilities' related investments
* Provides engineering expertise to users
* Is a referent during technical reviews
* Assures that global standard and guidance are integrated in projects
* Realizes HVAC and black utilities analysis and consolidates an HVAC parameter table, heat/thermal balance (heating, cooling, steam)
Requirements:
* Strong knowledge of core principles in various engineering disciplines, including manufacturing and support systems
* In-depth and specific technical knowledge of thermodynamics, fluids, automation/regulation, piping, material, etc.
* Expertise in cGMP
* Experience with verification, qualification, and validation (both V-cycle and ASTM E2500 approaches) is an asset
* Able to interpret and set up P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) and PFD (Process Flow Diagrams)
* Acts as an expert for ATEX/Biosafety topics
* Acts as a technical utilities expert during HAZOP/QRA/FMEA
* Strong knowledge of cGMP/GLP regulations, ICH, FDA CMC, ISPE, and PDA Guidance Documents
* Experience in engineering technologies supporting product development and/or manufacturing
* Knowledge of bio-safety levels requirements and its impact on own discipline
* Ability to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environment
* Experience in large and complex projects as well as both formal and informal leadership/coordination
* Experience with EPC/EPCM contracting models
* Manages with a matrix of reporting lines and across functional areas
* Excellent communication skills (able to present to senior management) and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work on multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong technical skills and ability to explain complex issues and requirements in an easily understood manner
* Ability to apply previous learning and ideas to new situations, projects, and teams, developing creative solutions to manage risk to a reasonably practicable level
* Ability to communicate effectively and make presentations with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team-based environment
