The Role
As a Technical Field Support, you will provide highly-visible and value-added onsite technical support to sales and customers in large and complex projects regarding Victaulic grooving and installation processes, the practical implementation of design services, and inspection of installed products. This requires presence on the jobsite for training of contractors before product installation, follow up of the actual installation, and technical review and inspection after product installation.
What you will do
1. Support sales & training departments with project-specific training of customers (mainly contractors or fabricators) on Victaulic grooving and installation procedures at jobsites. This includes the joint review of the published installation instructions in Victaulic literature, common practices of required tools and equipment, and hands-on demonstrative training of correct installation procedures.
2. Review practical challenges of proposals from the Pipe Movement Design Team and discuss with the customer, in coordination with the sales team, including validation of the actual implementation of the proposal in the field.
3. Coordination and execution of an inspection program (Inspection Services) at jobsites. This covers the practical preparation work and alignment with the contractor, defining and agreeing on the work process and conditions, including health and safety, identifying and coordinating required equipment or access assistance, and performing the inspection, maintaining logs and reporting.
4. Participate in and support post-project reviews internally and with customers on technical matters.
5. Perform additional related projects as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
About You
6. Technical degree, preferably in an Engineering discipline or equal-experienced level, preferably with electro-mechanical background.
7. Excellent communications skills in English, knowledge of other languages is an asset.
8. Organizational and problem-solving skills with ability to set priorities is required
9. Technical knowledge of building construction and pipe systems is preferred
10. Flexible home location. Ability & Willingness to travel within Europe up to 90% of the time. Initial job training and ongoing monthly/quarterly visits to regional headquarters in Nazareth, Belgium.
11. Valid driver’s license
12. Proficient in understanding and abiding by jobsite safety and health regulations.
