Mission of the Role
As Director Marketing & Communication, you will lead 3 teams at Fost Plus:
1. Communication and Engagement
2. Marketing
3. Product & Campaigns
Together you will define and ensure implementation of the overall brand strategy and marketing best practices for Fost Plus. Your mission is to build a strong and consistent brand reputation across all customer segments and stakeholders. Through strategic alignment and operational guidance, you will ensure a cohesive marketing and communication approach across markets while empowering local teams to adapt to specific business needs.
In this role, you will:
* Serve as the orchestrator of core marketing activities across regions.
* Foster expertise in marketing and communication practices, tools, and trends.
* Build and maintain a customer-centric culture within the organization.
* Credibly set up diverse projects with citizens, companies, municipalities and governments.
* Create enthusiasm to be part of the development towards sustainable packaging systems
Key Responsibilities
The Director Marketing & Communication creates the strategic plans and oversees all central marketing and communication operations, supported by a specialized team (3 direct reports, total team of 12 people). Primary areas of responsibility include:
1. Marketing & Brand Strategy
* Define and manage the Fost Plus value proposition at a strategic level.
* Act as the brand guardian to ensure consistency across all countries, maintaining the brand book and responding to brand-related queries.
* Monitor and safeguard the organization’s brand reputation.
* Oversee the execution and management of sponsorship deals.
2. Marketing and Communication Coordination
* Establish and manage centers of excellence to enhance capabilities across markets.
* Drive collaboration between different departments, ensuring alignment with the central vision and strategy (Communication and Engagement, Marketing and Product & Campaigns)
* Cultivate a company culture where brand identity and customer centricity are embedded in daily operations.
* Develop and maintain a central marketing and communication calendar, ensuring timely execution across regions.
* Create and roll out guidelines and frameworks.
* Define and implement the digital marketing and selling strategy in collaboration with business units, managing digital assets (e.g., website).
3. Market & Customer Research & Insights
* Define the annual research agenda and advise on research methodologies.
* Execute and/or coordinate research projects, leveraging external agencies when needed.
* Synthesize diverse data sources to deliver actionable insights.
* Develop insightful reports tailored to various stakeholders.
4. Technology
* Identify and evaluate tools to meet organizational needs.
* Manage the budget and develop business cases for tools and external data acquisition.
* Strategically oversee and optimize Fost Plus’ digital assets (websites, social media platforms, etc.)

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced team leader who can effectively manage diverse stakeholders and drive strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess:
Experience and Skills
* More than 10 years of experience in Marketing, Brand strategy and Communication.
* Holistic thinking and the ability to execute end-to-end strategies.
* Strong knowledge of (digital) marketing/communication technologies.
* Experience working in complex environments with multiple customer segments and stakeholders.
* A strong background with proven experience in leading a team.
* Deep understanding of stakeholder management in complex settings, strong project management and people management skills.
* Strong soft skills: ability to inspire, lead with empathy, and drive innovation both internally and externally.
