Municipal and provincial authoritiesCurrent knowledge of relevant legislation affecting housing development and current market knowledge in relation to construction costs and trends in the construction sector.Responsibilities1. Analyze site, building, and suite plans as well as other technical drawings.2. Prepare and review financial and other quantitative analysis, particularly financial modeling and complex budgeting, with some familiarity of financial accounting statements.3. Work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing and meeting tight deadlines within complex and well-documented critical path schedules.4. Keep current with the specific political, regulatory, and market trends to keep the business informed of potential changes within the development industry.5. Communicate and build trust with, and deliver upon commitments to, diverse groups of stakeholders including municipal staff, politicians, community groups, adjacent landowners, etc., within the Waterloo region or GTA.6. Analyze complex contracts and other legal and regulatory documents, such as official plans and zoning by-laws.7. Work with the larger Urban Development team and assist with general administration as required.8. A university or college degree or equivalent (in civil engineering, urban planning or related specialty), and, ideally, some level of formal business education.2. Ontario P.Eng Preferred but not required.3. Exceptional analytic, quantitative and problem-solving skills.4. MUST have experience leading at least 3 high rise projects construction in GTA and must have over 10 years working experience in this industry.5. A high level of skill working within Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook).6. Well-developed communication skills: listening, verbal, written, and graphic.7.
