GETTING A FLYING START
1. As Technical Expert R&D – Mechanical/Electrical Contact, you will contribute to overall projects and/or be responsible for sub-projects in product and technology development with successful support up to series production.
2. You will design, test, and evaluate cable connectors in compliance with standards, design guidelines, and customer standards.
3. You will support in patent research with your technical analysis and valuable evaluation of marketable products and components.
This role, based in EREMBODEGEM (Belgium), is vital for supporting Nexans' strategic goals, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving continuous improvement in our technical processes.
HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
Develop mechanical and electrical contact technology for cable connectors:
1. You manage projects in product and technology development by successful support up to series production and active monitoring of the production process.
2. You design, test, and evaluate cable connectors in compliance with standards, design guidelines, and customer standards.
3. You support in patent research by technical analysis and evaluation of marketable products and components.
4. You support the sales department in technical questions and reclamation handling and create technical documentation for products and components.
5. Laboratory management (order, cleanliness, responsibility for equipment and tool maintenance) and related activities.
6. Preparation and support for type tests and tests according to ISO IEC 61238 in the low, medium, and high voltage range.
7. You cooperate for preparation of internal and external product and assembly training.
YOUR STARTING POINTS WHEN YOU JOIN
1. Educational Background: Master’s degree in the area of electrical or electromechanical engineering.
2. Product Management Skills: Proven experience in product development and in the area of mechanical and electrical contact technology and insulating materials. You have some knowledge in handling common CAD systems and common simulation tools.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide technical support on customer projects in several countries. Strategic and creative thinking, as well as independent working in a team.
1. Be open to travelling regularly.
