Functie
As a Project Manager Plant Nematology Research you will be responsible for R&D projects concerning the sustainable management of plant-parasitic nematodes. This includes various tasks: Design, execution and follow-up of nematological experiments:
1. Execution of in vitro assays and plant assays in growth-chamber and greenhouse trials
2. Follow up of registration and grower field trials
3. Microscopy and molecular biology techniques
4. Plant nematode diagnostics
5. Cultivation and maintenance of a collection of plant-parasitic nematode species
Project management:
6. Precise experimental planning and trial design
7. Data analysis and statistical processing of results
8. Preparing and leading progress meetings
9. Keeping close contact with the different departments and teams involved
10. Setting up new research projects related to biological control of plant-parasitic nematodes
In this position you will regularly travel abroad, mainly within Europe and Mediterranean region. Your homebase is our research center in Sint-Katelijne-Waver. In a few years, a relocation to Grobbendonk is planned, which will become your permanent base of operations.
Profiel
Do you have a Master or PhD in Plant Nematology ? Is agronomy your focus? And do you like to get your hands dirty ? Then we are looking for you!
For our position of Project Manager Plant Nematology Research, we are looking for someone with:
11. Proven experience in nematode diagnostics and biological control in Plant Nematology
12. A strong research background
13. Great time- and project management skills
14. Very good knowledge of English
15. A flexible mindset, who can easily adapt to different situations
16. A team player that can easily connect and bridge between different departments involved
17. A driving license B and practical experience
Knowledge of French and experience in chemical laboratory techniques and formulation is a plus.
