For our client, based in Antwerp, we are looking for an automation engineer for onshore projects.

To drive innovation in offshore gas extraction, processing, production, storage, and the maritime transport of liquefied natural gas (LNG), petrochemical gases, and liquid hydrocarbons.
Function Description
As an Automation Engineer, you will join the onshore infrastructure team based in Antwerp. You will provide technical support in the fields of electrical systems, instrumentation, and automation. In this role, you’ll work closely with Technical Superintendents onboard and support ongoing projects to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations in compliance with industry and client standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and support the electrical/instrumentation/automation (E/I/A) scope for existing liquefied natural gas (LNG) assets and act as subject matter expert during newbuild projects.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for all technical matters related to E/I/A.
* Maintain regular communication with Technical Superintendents, onboard crews, and cross-functional teams to align on operations.
* Prepare and review technical specifications for repairs during maintenance or dry-docking periods.
* Recommend and implement technical improvements to boost reliability and performance.
* Oversee maintenance plans and ensure compliance with class and statutory certifications.
* Assist in the planning and execution of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work.
* Report on progress, budgeting, and compliance related to E/I/A systems.
* Contribute to the preparation of technical budgets for operations, dry-docks, and projects.
* Approve purchase requests and expenditures in line with approved budgets.
Profile Description
* Master’s degree in automation or electromechanics, or equivalent experience as an Automation Engineer.
* Familiarity with DCS, SIS, Honeywell systems, etc.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
* Willing to travel 10 - 20% of your time.
* Fluent in spoken and written English, speaking Dutch is a plus.
