As a Senior Accountant, your mission will be to contribute to the financial health and accuracy of our operations as well as compliance with accounting principles and regulations but also ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions for several local subsidiaries of the Group.
Your main responsibilities will be:
* Monthly accounting closure activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness for final reporting according to Spanish GAAP and IFRS.
* Reconcile accounts and meticulously maintain a complete and accurate general ledger in strict adherence to accounting principles and reporting schedules.
* Intercompany balance reconciliation.
* Elaborate the reporting package for our parent company.
* Reporting and active communication to Head of Commercial and Accounting at headquarter.
* Calculating corporate tax and deferred tax.
* Support our tax expert with correct reporting and payment of Spanish taxes as well as preparing tax declarations and SII.
* Asset Accounting.
* Preparation of the local annual financial statement incl. coordination, participation in and taking responsibility in the Company's audit process.
* Assess and check business transactions and postings.
* Ensure both the accounting manuals and guidelines are updated.
* Support controlling team in day-to-day professional duties.
* Reporting to governmental agencies, statistical authority etc.
* Monitoring and supporting of Junior Accountants.
* Weekly expense administration: check correct posting in the general ledger and arrange for payments.
* Create and modify master data as required, contributing to efficient and effective financial data management in SAP FI. Analytical accounting in SAP, with the use of the different cost objects used in SAP, WBS elements, statistical orders, cost centers.
* Keep vendor data updated in the general ledger.
* Quarterly vendor control account reconciliation.
* Correct documentation and storage of all payment supporting documents.
* Monthly monitoring and reconciliation of bank account balances.
* Actively participate in the Company's audit process, taking responsibility for preparing and thoroughly reviewing the information required by auditors and preparation of the annual accounts.
* Check and post incoming intercompany invoices.
* Check, post and pay incoming vendor invoices.
* Issue outgoing invoices (national and international).
Your profile:
* Bachelor´s degree in ADE, Finance or Accounting, preferably with professional experience in accounting.
* Ideally 5+ years of experience in accounting departments within the renewable energy sector.
* IFRS and Spanish Local GAAP knowledge.
* Expertise in MS-Office (particularly Excel) and in SAP tools.
* Being prepared to take more responsibilities in a growing general accounting hub.
* Self-confident approach combined with a high degree of dedication to working effectively and independently.
* Strong communication skills and team spirit.
* Willingness to travel within the first year.
* Excellent English skills (spoken and written).
* Residence in Madrid.
* Interest for the renewable energy transition.
