External Communications Manager

To reinforce our Marketing team we are looking for a External Communications Manager.
In the light of a very dynamic environment, with clear ambitions related to business expansion in North America and in selected categories in Europe, optimizing our operations and delivering sustainable innovation, the Group External Communications Manager plays a crucial role in shaping Ontex' public image and ensuring consistent, engaging, and effective communication across all channels and towards all external stakeholders.
To achieve these objectives, the Group External Communications Manager has a strong strategic mindset, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to develop and execute communication strategies, by partnering with C-suite (Executive Management Committee or EMC), Extended Leadership Team (ELT) and key functions like Investor Relations, Strategy Office, Innovation and Sustainability.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
• Strategic Communication Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive external communications strategy
- Identify and leverage key communication opportunities
• Content development and social media management
- Develop a multichannel content roadmap in line with Ontex' strategy
- Create & design engaging and inspiring content
- Develop and execute social media campaigns that resonate with target audience
- Ensure the Ontex corporate website is up-to-date and effectively communicates the brand’s message
• Public Relations:
- Lead PR activities, including media relations, press releases, and crisis communication
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets and journalists in Europe and North America
• Project Management:
- Manage communication projects from conception through execution, managing time and budget
- Track and report on the effectiveness of communication activities, adjusting strategies as necessary
Education & Experience
• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in communication or public relations or equivalent by experience
• + 5-7 years of progressive experience within corporate communications
• Experience in stock-listed multinational companies or comparable in scope and scale
• Crisis communications management experience required
• Fluency (written and oral) in English and Dutch. English copywriting required
• Knowledge of (new) digital communication technologies (eg. Wordpress, Meltwater, AI, Adobe Creative) is a plus
• Strong project management expertise
• A highly energetic, proactive and action-oriented personality who is willing to roll up their sleeves
