About the job
As a Category Manager, you will analyze category and consumer trends, develop long-term strategies, and define key performance indicators (KPIs) for pricing, promotions, and assortments.
Your role is pivotal in both internal and external strategic discussions, aligning our client's strategy with customer-centric, long-term action plans. Your goal is to create a win-win-win scenario for retailers, shoppers, and our client.
By leveraging your expertise and credibility, you will ensure that our client becomes the preferred partner or Category Captain for retailers, collaborating on plans that drive sustainable category growth.
Your key responsabilities will be centralized around the following topics:
4. You manage and analyze market data, present insights and action plans, set KPIs, devise long-term strategies, oversee promotions, and serve as the primary contact for key data partners while monitoring and following up on the Catman budget.
5. You collaborate with sales to define and follow up on annual retailer plans, partner with Key Account Managers to drive category growth, analyze and share performance metrics, translate Spadel’s category vision into retailer-specific plans, set up retailer action plans using data, and support field teams in optimizing in-store sales activities and perfect store implementation.
6. You collaborate with marketing on key commercial initiatives, contribute to innovation projects by defining potential and channel strategies, support competitive analysis, and use retailer data to provide shopper insights and guide brand plans.
7. You manage projects by developing a new category vision for OOH, ensuring the Home category vision remains active within the company, laying the groundwork for AI adoption in sales, and integrating Revenue Growth Management (RGM) into category management.
About the ideal candidate
8. You have relevant working experience (min years) in analyzing market data, consumer trends, and sales performance (knowledge of Nielsen is a strong plus).
9. You possess a good understanding of the FMCG industry and the retailer landscape in the Benelux market.
10. You are comfortable effectively communicating category strategies with internal and external stakeholders.
11. You possess strong analytical skills paired with a commercial, action-driven mindset and the ability to think cross-functionally.
12. You're a team player who is result-oriented, growth-driven, organized, and detail-oriented
13. You are fluent in French and English or in Dutch and English.
