Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Tooling Teams perform production functions related to metalworking dies and tool making. They are responsible for performing all orders for constructing, modifying and conditioning metalworking dies and can fabricate new jigs, cutting or forming tools and fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches, models and engineering or shop specifications. They perform precision work to precise tolerances and dimensions; recommend design changes and/or material substitutions based on machinability or manufacturing problems; and troubleshoot problems related to unusual materials, machine settings, manufacturing methods and production processes. Each team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area and for following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.
We are looking for a Toolshop Supervisor who will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 15 machinists. The ideal candidate will have a good technical knowledge and background in machining and strong supervisory skills.
Tasks
1. As a supervisor, you will be responsible for coaching and supervising employees within the department with the goal of achieving maximum productivity and quality and meeting pre-set departmental goals.
2. Your main duties :
3. Coordinate the preparation of the work schedule taking into account capacity and knowledge within the department and where necessary in consultation with the other departments.
4. Managing employees within the department who are responsible for realizing maximum productivity and quality and achieving the department's objectives.
5. Daily monitoring, coaching, motivating and developing the employees within the department.
6. Management of the machinery (maintenance/repairs/replacement,...) and in this context coordination with external suppliers.
7. Supporting the implementation of TEOA within the department and monitoring the various KPIs.
8. Responsible for internal and external tool shop related reporting and communication.
9. Monitor compliance with safety standards during all operations.
10. Proactively searching for themes in the context of innovation and continuous improvement and providing technical support for their elaboration, both within and outside the own work area.
11. Keeping himself continuously informed of evolutions within the field.
Tasks:
12. You are Bachelor/Master in Industrial Science, direction (electro)mechanics, or equivalent through experience.
13. Minimum 3-5 years supervisory / managerial experience.
14. You work very precisely and have a proactive attitude.
15. You can make decisions independently.
16. You are a strong coordinator, a good communicator and a real team player.
17. You are practical and results-oriented, supported by a well-developed analytical mind. You are inventive when thinking up solutions.
18. You have language skills (Dutch/English - knowledge of German is a plus).
19. You have knowledge of machining technologies for parts.
20. You have good 2D and 3D insight.
21. You master shape, location, and position tolerances.
22. Knowledge of SAP, excel, Pro Engineer/Creo ... is a plus.
