The European Commission is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based solutions across its operations. This high-impact role will focus on developing secure, scalable, and efficient cloud infrastructures that align with the Commission’s strategic objectives and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and implement cloud architectures tailored to the European Commission's needs, focusing on scalability, security, and performance.
* Develop and enforce cloud governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with EU regulations and standards.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workloads, enhance cloud efficiency, and implement best practices.
* Drive innovation by identifying and integrating emerging cloud technologies.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to teams involved in cloud migration and management.
* Monitor cloud environments to ensure performance, reliability, and security.
Key Requirements:
* At least 7 years of experience in cloud architecture and solution design.
* Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud environments.
* Strong understanding of cloud security, data governance, and EU compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR).
* Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
* Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale cloud migration or transformation projects.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills in English; knowledge of other EU languages is an asset.
