PURPOSE
The Head of Trade Marketing Belux is responsible for the development and execution of brand strategies across all channels in Belgium and Luxembourg. This role serves as a vital communication link between the sales and marketing departments, ensuring that brand strategies are effectively translated into actionable channel plans. Channels to be activated: off-trade, on-trade, liquor stores and ecommerce for the full portfolio (including prestige).
RESPONSABILITIES
STRATEGIC CHANNEL MANAGEMENT
1. The main responsibility is the development of the channel plans in synergy with the marketing plan, in close collaboration with Brand Managers, Field Sales Managers (FSM), and Key Account Managers.
2. Define the entire trade marketing plan together with his team (responsible per channel) to beat the market and support the sell-out, trial and brand engagement.
3. Ensure a flawless communication between departments and lead the transversal meetings to create channel activations and follow-up (game plan meeting).
4. Key stakeholder in transversal processes such as brand plans, beyond budget, business performances reviews, pre-forecasting sessions, taskforces, able to challenge both marketing and sales team in their vision if needed.
5. Ensure brand activations are well executed in the different channels.
BUDGET & KPIS
1. Manage and follow up on the activity budget for trade marketing activations.
2. Define KPIs per channel and brand to support the right development of the plans.
3. Challenge and support the trade terms & on-trade contracts negotiations.
ANALYTICS
1. Be the market data expert, developing and leveraging data analysis to enhance various activities and processes.
2. Support business development across Belgium and Luxembourg through a data-driven channel strategy vision.
3. Monitor channel performance and implement corrective actions to meet objectives.
4. Lead category management and trade marketing projects.
TEAM LEADERSHIP
1. Lead and mentor a team of 2 Trade Marketing Managers specialized by channel (Retail & Convenience, Liquor Stores & E-commerce and On Trade & Prestige) and 2/3 Brand Ambassadors.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business and/or Economics.
2. Minimum of 5 years of a similar experience in an FMCG environment.
3. A previous experience in the spirits and hospitality industry is a plus.
4. Fluent in French, Dutch and English.
5. Solution-oriented and results-driven.
6. Creative and entrepreneurial mindset.
7. Adaptable and open-minded.
8. Strong commercial acumen and experience in customer management.
9. Proficient in strategic planning.
10. Strong budget and financial analysis skills (KPI setting, analysis, and follow-up).
