QUALITY CONTROL ENGINEER - LEUVEN (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITION
We're currently recruiting a Quality Control Engineer for a a leading manufacturer of high-performance electronic components, serving industries such as consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace, and telecommunications.
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for overseeing product quality, managing customer returns, identifying and inspecting defects, and proactively implementing improvements to enhance product reliability.
This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Investigate and analyze customer returns, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
* Conduct inspections and testing of electronic components to detect defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
* Develop and maintain quality control processes and procedures to enhance product reliability.
* Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
* Utilize data analysis tools to monitor trends, identify areas for improvement, and implement proactive quality enhancements.
* Assist in supplier audits and evaluations to ensure adherence to quality requirements.
* Provide technical support to customers regarding quality-related concerns and resolution processes.
* Maintain compliance with industry regulations and company quality management systems.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other quality methodologies.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in the electronic components industry.
* Strong understanding of quality control principles, failure analysis, and problem-solving techniques.
* Proficiency in using quality management tools such as FMEA, 8D, SPC, and root cause analysis.
* Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other relevant quality management systems.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and customers.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and testing procedures.
* Strong analytical and organizational skills with a proactive mindset.
