Job Description
A leading international retail store chain with a strong presence in Belgium, renowned for its diverse product and service offerings, including fuel, food, beverages, and other retail items. This organization boasts approximately 14,000 employees worldwide.
Main Responsibilities
* Oversee tax compliance activities encompassing VAT, corporate tax, and transfer pricing to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
* Conduct thorough tax analysis to identify opportunities for potential tax optimizations.
* Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including tax authorities and auditors, to address tax-related matters.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies.
* Reconcile IFRS and BEGAAP taxation to ensure accurate financial reporting.
* Prepare and submit monthly VAT and Intrastat reports in a timely manner.
* Analyze tax documents and financial statements to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Identify potential tax savings and optimization opportunities to present to management or clients.
Requirements
* Possess an advanced degree in Tax Law or Finance.
* Demonstrate proven experience in Belgian tax compliance, preferably within a BIG4 firm or in-house position.
* Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex tax scenarios.
* Have knowledge of SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards systems.
* Be an effective team player, able to bridge collaboration between local teams and business center teams.
* Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues and clients.
* Fluency in English and Dutch or French is essential.
