Function
This role requires navigating a multifaceted organizational structure, balancing the needs of diverse stakeholders, and managing the complexities of labor relations, cultural transformation, and workforce planning. Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
1. Develop and implement a strategic HR roadmap aligned with business objectives and Europe roadmap focusing on fostering a high-performance culture, sustainable performance, and organization.
2. Act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager and senior leaders, providing insights and solutions on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent development.
3. Monitor HR trends, metrics, and analytics to proactively address challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
4. Drive the transition from a reactive HR approach to a predictive HR approach, enhancing decision-making and strategic impact.
Labor Relations and Compliance
1. Oversee labor relations, ensuring compliance with Belgian labor laws and maintaining positive relationships with unions and works councils.
2. Act as a key negotiator during collective bargaining processes, fostering constructive dialogue and long-term agreements.
3. Address the unique challenges of managing both blue-collar and white-collar employee populations.
Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning
1. Lead recruitment efforts to ensure the timely acquisition of top talent, particularly tackling the strategic challenges linked to the age pyramid and knowledge transfer.
2. Manage succession planning to build strong leadership and expert pipelines, ensuring business continuity.
Leadership Development and Performance Management
1. Support managers in implementing leadership development programs to strengthen their capabilities in leading teams, driving results, and making their people grow.
2. Oversee the performance management process, ensuring timely and meaningful feedback, calibration sessions, and development planning.
Operational Excellence
1. Manage the HR budget, including training, recruitment, and development activities, ensuring alignment with business priorities and financial constraints.
2. Implement and oversee HR policies, procedures, and systems to drive operational efficiency and employee satisfaction.
3. Support organizational change initiatives, including digital transformation, automation, and restructuring projects.
Profile
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
1. Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Law, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in an HR leadership role.
3. Proven track record in managing HR in a complex, fast-changing industrial environment.
4. Experience in labor relations, including negotiations with unions and works councils.
5. Strong background in talent management, succession planning, and workforce development.
6. Experience working in a matrix organization and collaborating with regional or global HR teams.
Skills & Competencies
1. Deep understanding of Belgian labor laws, social relations, and HR best practices.
2. Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience leading HR teams.
3. Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to drive cultural transformation and organizational change.
