Energy & Climate Change Senior Consultant - Public Sector, NGOs and Foundations
Climact is an independent energy & climate consulting company, advising both private and public organisations, supporting the world towards a net zero carbon society.
Its “Prospective analyses” business unit provides medium to long term (prospective) advice on the understanding, implications and trade-offs of the energy and climate transition for the public sector, NGOs, foundations, and industry federations.
A key distinctiveness of CLIMACT is the use of in-house and external models and data to support the advice. We develop and use sophisticated, user-friendly and open-source models on the energy and climate systems at the global, national and local levels – and use our findings to understand stakes and improve energy and climate policy.
See examples of the main analytical tools supporting our work (Pathways Explorer, EUCityCalc, ECNO, PyPSA). Illustrative projects include supporting federations of NGOs or federations of industries to design a net zero vision or conduct risk assessments on climate and biodiversity.
The senior consultant will be part of a team of experienced modellers and consultants working on Prospective studies, with the following responsibilities:
* Lead and contribute to a combination of quantitative and qualitative projects. The quantitative projects typically rely on the modelling expertise (in-house and external), with the design and interpretation of scenarios and roadmaps, identifying relevant insights, learnings, and key recommendations.
* Manage consultancy projects on energy and climate change.
* Present key relevant messages and results to senior management levels.
* Business development and preparation of energy and climate change proposals for administrations, NGOs, foundations, and industry federations.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must. Relevant experience in modelling is an asset.
* Presentation and communication skills to interact with clients are key, including contributing to reports and proposals. Language skills are a strong asset (EN & FR & NL).
* Strong ability to work in a team, with ambition to grow towards a team leadership role.
* 2 to 5 years of experience in management consulting is a strong asset.
* 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in the climate and energy transition, or in a sector which consumes or produces energy, is a strong asset.
* Strong drive to contribute to the climate change challenge.
* A good sense of creativity and autonomy.
