For our client in the region of Leuven, we are looking for an experienced System Design Engineer.
What you will do
The team develops and maintains all the SQL databases components necessary for the stability. Next to this, they are also a partner of the different ICT parties to serve the business needs.
As member of the team, you are responsible for the daily operations. On top of that, you will be involved in projects based on your MS SQL Server expertise. Those projects might be infrastructural projects as upgrade projects or ICT/business projects.
* Design, build and promote all the necessary technical components to obtain a stable and secure MS SQL database environment
* Follow up the market and evolutions of the MQ SQL Databases, together with de system Architect and Product Owner
* Follow up security recommendations (proactively and reactively) and minimize the operational risk
* You help the concerned teams with their operational issues : performance investigations, database stability, ...
* You are able to modify and write scripts (t-SQL, powershell, perl)
* You work together with our offshore partner to ensure the first level operational quality.
* As you work for a Bank Company, you need to follow strict the security policies. (tools allowed to use, authorization policies, …)
* You participate in the on call organization and are willing to work outside business hours (mostly planned interventions)
What You Bring To The Team
* Sound knowledge of MS SQL 2019 and MS SQL 2022.
* Knowledge of Windows 2019, Windows 2022 and VMWare.
* Knowledge of setup and troubleshooting SQL Server Always-On High Availability
* T-SQL, PowerShell, Python or Perl
* Good knowledge of SQL Backup functionalities.
* Fluent in English and able to work in Leuven
* Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
* You are security minded
* You are assertive, convincing and diplomatic at the same time
* You have strong organizational and self-management skills
* You can work under pressure as you are working with operational systems
* You are a team player but also able to work independently
