The Role: VAT Compliance Specialist
Location: Hybrid, Mechelen (Flexible - preferred 1 day p/week in the office with freedom to work from office more if you wish)
We currently have an excellent opportunity for a VAT Compliance Specialist to join our team on a permanent basis.
What you'll do
As the VAT Compliance Specialist, you will support the European VAT Manager on all VAT matters to include the following;
* Support on all aspects of VAT - both to the European Stanley organization and the non-EU Stanley organization (planning of import and shipments)
* Ensure integrity of VAT Compliance deadlines and due dates across Europe
* Develop and manage compliance with documented controls and processes established under Sarbanes Oxley for VAT
* Develop systems procedures for VAT coding and automated VAT and Intrastat data gathering
* Support SAP rollout including related add-on such as Concur (T&E), Ariba (indirect spend) and I2P (direct spend),
* Support of the implementation of SAF-T, e-invoicing and VIDA
* VAT and Intrastat support to the business and finance organizations
* Regular internal VAT and Intrastat audits (systems, documents, reconciliations, etc.)
* Training of accounting staff & SSC (AP/GL and VAT accounting team)
* In respect of new acquisitions across Europe: implement Stanley VAT procedures and system set-up (SAP)
What are we looking for?
* Demonstrable experience in VAT Compliance either in industry or with consultant firm
* Experience with Excel and Access
* Financial & Accounting insight/experience
* Familiar with commercial and financial systems
* Fluent in English and good knowledge of French
